(Monrovia, 31st December 2013): On behalf of the Political Leader, Chairman, and the entire National Executive Committee of the Congress for Democratic Change, we wish all CDCians a purposeful & Happy New Year.

As we enter the year 2014 amidst diverse political views relatable to the different interests competing within the CDC, the NEC in its statutory obligations to party & people, reiterates the constitutional rights of all members of the party to contest for positions within its internal structures and cautions all partisans to refrain from sowing division in the party on the basis of preferences largely believed to be premature.
The party subsequently reminds all partisans desirous of contesting elected party positions to be particularly mindful of the provisions of the party’s constitution requiring conventions and primaries as the best democratic mechanisms for the free expressions of political interests and ideas.
As it has been sufficiently stressed by the National Leader of the Congress for Democratic Change, H.E Ambassador George M. Weah, the NEC has timelessly encouraged and nurtured full protection of the right of all CDCians to aspire within the confines of our laws, provided that such aspirations will not serve as bedrock for unnecessary distractions and disorder.
Therefore, let it be abundantly clear that the Congress for Democratic change will not allow itself to be derailed from its responsibility of giving the Liberian people
a more reputable legislative presence in 2014, and hence prioritizes this democratic enterprise as a core objective to which it shall stay focused.
At the same time, the leadership of the Congress for Democratic Change denounces series of recent media publications against the party, and reassure its numerous partisans that the CDC is the priceless property of the Liberian people and therefore cannot be thought possible to be sold or compromised.
In conclusion, the CDC under the indisputable leadership of Amb George Manneh Weah, wishes to restate that the party will continue to operate along the patterns of its strategic focus towards the successful outcome of elections 2014, & removes itself from futile conversations unworthy of constitutional countenance during this period.
This statement was issued upon the authority of the National Executive Committee of the Congress for Democratic Change.
